The holiday season is a time of warmth, joy, and giving—and thanks to our incredible donors, the Jamie Lee Foundation once again brought that spirit to thousands of children in need through our 2024 Sub for Santa initiative.
This year, we continued our mission to support Title 1 youth in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system, providing essential items to over 200 students facing economic hardship. For these children, stability is often out of reach. Many are navigating the challenges of unstable housing, food insecurity, and a daily reality where basic needs are not guaranteed. But through the generosity of our supporters, we were able to make this season a little brighter and a lot more hopeful.
With the help of our partners, we supplied winter clothing to keep students warm, school supplies to fuel their education, and meal cards to ensure they wouldn’t go hungry over the holiday break. Beyond necessities, we wanted to send a message: You matter. You are seen. Your future is important. That’s why each gift was chosen with care, not just to meet immediate needs, but to uplift, inspire, and remind these students that their community believes in them.
The impact of this initiative extends far beyond a single holiday season. It’s about showing these kids that they are not alone, that people they may never meet are cheering them on, and that their dreams are worth fighting for. Though we aren’t able to personally deliver these gifts, we hear the heartfelt gratitude from school administrators, who share stories of students’ excitement, relief, and renewed sense of hope.
