Sub for Santa 2022

Thanks to our generous supporters Jamie Lee Foundation successfully met its Sub for Santa goals for this year! Our annual initiative, which aims to provide for the needs of those who are struggling during the Christmas season, was focused this year on helping homeless and Title 1 youth. Although we were unable to personally deliver the items – due to policy restrictions – we are delighted to report that the administrator who received them was overwhelmed by the amount we were able to provide and the impact it would have on the lives of those who received it.

We were able to join other charities to provide school supplies, clothing, shoes, and meal tickets for all 3,000 youth in the Charlotte-Mechlenburg school system. This is the first Sub-for-Santa that we were able to provide as a joint effort with other dynamic groups and people dedicated to helping the youth experience a better today and have hope to strive for an outstanding tomorrow.

While it is gratifying to know we were able to help to the extent we did, the success still brings sorrow and an unfulfilled wish that we could do more. The stories we heard of the youth we helped, and the situations they face, are heartbreaking!

The impact of this initiative is immense. It means so much to these youth to know that others care about their well-being and are willing to help them during difficult times. The support they receive not only helps them continue their education but also encourages them to be better citizens. It shows them that they are valued members of their community and that they have a place where they belong.

At the Jamie Lee Foundation, we seek to help not only individuals directly but also to build better communities by helping people feel safer, that they belong, and that others care. We are incredibly grateful to all those who supported our Sub for Santa initiative this year. Your support has made a real difference in the lives of these children, and we look forward to continuing our work to help those in need in our community.
