For some, Santa’s visit to their home only comes through the charitable giving of others. This year Jamie Lee Foundation was fortunate to participate in helping several families–as well as residents in a behavior health medical facility.
The impact of Sub for Santa programs is not only seen on the faces of the recipients but also in the lives of volunteers and donors as they feel the joy of providing for those in need.
Providing heat and safety for a single mom
A newly single mother was driving her van in winter weather with no heat, worn brakes, and a malfunctioning headlight. With help from Egan Automotive in Kaysville, UT, who contributed labor and discounted pricing on parts (and an oil change), Jamie Lee Foundation was able to return her van to full functioning condition.
Here Comes Santa Claus
Jamie Lee was also able to help provide gifts from Santa for a family of 5 children, a family of 4 children (being raised by a single grandmother), and another family of 3 children. We wish we could show pictures of the happiness and surprise on the faces of the children to all those who contributed time or money to provide for these precious children, but we agreed to keep them confidential.
As rewarding, as the children’s expressions were, the gratitude expressed by parents who were fighting depression and heartache over their inability to provide a Christmas for their children was also magical.

Holiday Blues Multiplied
For some seniors living in retirement homes, loneliness during the holidays can be especially depressing. When lack of mobility prevents even the limited socialization within the retirement home, loneliness can become overwhelming.
Thanks to the donations received from our supporters, we were able to repair and donate a scooter to a recently widowed resident allowing them more opportunity to mingle and even go outside for some fresh air and sunshine to help lift their spirits.
