We reach out to help a variety of people who are suffering and in need by focusing on three areas: Natural Disasters, Debilitating Illness and Disease, and Serving the Underserved. Due to the great number of charities supporting large initiatives in these areas, Jamie Lee Foundation focuses on smaller and often overlooked, areas and groups of people.
Title 1 Youth
Imagine thousands of children walking into school, not with excitement for learning, but with the gnawing ache of empty stomachs, the chill of missing warm clothes, or the pain of walking in shoes falling apart or the wrong size. For over 3,000 Title 1 youth in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, this harsh reality is everyday life. These children face the blight of educational and nutritional deficits, bearing the burdens of poverty beyond their young shoulders. Our partnership with other charities fills the crucial gaps left outside of federal aid, bridging the chasm between basic needs and potential. We provide nourishing meals, essential school supplies, clothing, shoes, and even the simple dignity of fresh water bottles. Witnessing the smiles light up their faces as they receive these necessities is a gift that transcends words. Helping them conquer the challenges of hunger and need, and empowering them to pursue their dreams, is the essence of humanitarian spirit in its purest form. Join us in this critical mission, and be the lighthouse that illuminates hope in the lives of these underserved children.
Even small donations have an impact! Poverty and hardship can seem unsolvable…possibly because of the millions of people it touches (or crushes). However, there is a less visible collective prosperity throughout the world that when pooled together can have a significant and personal impact on those in need.
Jamie Lee Foundation applies humanitarian donations to projects as they have the funds and also focus on specific projects periodically, such as its annual Sub-for-Santa.
