Jamie Lee Foundation reaches out to help a variety of people who are suffering and in need by focusing on three areas: Natural Disasters, Debilitating Illness and Disease, and Serving the Underserved. Due to great number of charities supporting large initiatives in these areas, Jamie Lee Foundation focuses on smaller, and often overlooked, areas and groups of people.
Natural Disasters
Many people work hard and save diligently to be prepared for life’s surprises, but sometimes life hits harder than anyone is prepared for. Others work hard to make it just day-to-day and natural disasters create a crushing burden to an already difficult life.
Natural disasters often become the great equalizer bringing the well-off and the destitute to the same level of need.
While not able to respond to every disaster that hits–even those close to home–Jamie Lee Foundation has been able to provide support and assistance to a variety of people impacted from some of them.
Debilitating Illness and Disease
As people age, physical limitations that were once manageable become increasingly difficult and debilitating. At the same time family members often move away, leaving aging parents facing these mounting challenges on their own.
Jamie Lee Foundation has helped those struggling with Muscular Dystrophy, Diabetes, Congestive Heart Failure, Chronic Fatigue, and other ailments.
Serving the Underserved
With all the focus on the poor throughout the third world (and properly so) many are overlooked immediately around us. Many of them are barely making ends meet. While this pales in comparison to those who are lucky to eat once a week, it still is a need to be met.
Jamie Lee Foundation assists such people with basic food staples, utility bills, and programs such as Sub for Santa.
