Cannabis Culture and CURE – A Documentary

Documentary on uses and benefits of medical Marijuana

What is “Medical Marijuana”?

Marijuana’s incredible healing properties come from its high cannabidiol (CBD) content and critical levels of medical terpenes and flavonoids. It also contains some tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the molecule that gives the psychoactive effect, which most recreational users are after. Through traditional plant breeding techniques and seed exchanges, growers have started producing Cannabis plants that have higher levels of CBD and lower levels of THC for medical use.

In spite of the FDA’s resistance to approving Medical Marijuana, more and more physicians are starting to reverse their stand on the issue and swear by its effectiveness and health benefits.

Documentaries are the perfect way to open people’s eyes. With all of the fake news and “alternative truths”, blogs and documentaries are providing an increasingly critical role in helping people make clearer decisions with accurate information.

In fact in 2013, Dr. Sanja Gupta, CNN’s medical correspondent, made the commitment to perform a more detailed investigation into the effects of Cannabis. In the process of filming his documentary (later named WEED), he became acquainted with the plant’s medicinal uses and switched from being an opponent to an advocate of Cannabis.

The purpose of the Jamie Lee Foundation’s documentary is to dispel myths and half-truths around Medical Marijuana, as well as exposing the medical conspiracy surrounding this versatile plant. It will also portray ordinary people with an extraordinary amount of courage, who have faced opposition in their use of Marijuana to address health challenges.

The budget for this documentary is $90,000 to cover filming, travel, editing, publishing, and distributing the film.
