Artistic Expressions

Why Jamie Lee Foundation works with aspiring artists

We believe in the power of arts and culture to inspire creativity and spark collaboration. By supporting artists, we help to strengthen the creative landscape and quality for others.

We define our human experience by the cultures we create and participate in. Our customs, social interactions, and activities (in essence our culture) is captured and often expanded, by the arts.

Art is a proven tool for stress reduction and well-being. There are countless studies into the physical and mental benefits of making art, and the benefits of even looking at an artwork. Making and looking at art has long-term effects like boosting our brain function and our immune systems as well as contributing positively to our mental and emotional health. Art helps us process trauma, express difficult feelings, and work through experiences.

Additionally, artists can be powerful drivers of civic progress, shining a light on critical issues and encouraging others to take action on them.
